3D Printing Part
1. Introduction
The
purpose of this homework was to practice using the 3D printer.
SolidWorks was used to create a test component to prepare us for future projects that requires the use of the 3D printer.
2. Methods
I
followed the turtorial by Noah to create the part in Solidworks then
used the Monoprice 3D printer to print the part. For a more detailed
methods go to Noah's 3D printing tutorial http://www.yilectronics.com/Students/npeterson/3dfinal/Lab1.html.
3. Results
The 3D bracket piece was created in Solidworks. The Solidworks file was
converted into a STL file. Ultimaker Cura software was used to convert
the STL file to Gcode. After slicing my part, I uploaded my code to the
Monoprice 3D printer via microSD.

3. Discussion
3D printing was a success. There were a few problems with the printer
and reading the SD card. By using a new SD card that wasn't as full,
the part printed successfully.
