LAB 1: Vivado and Gvim Installation and Preparation
Introduction
The purposed of this lab was to learn how to use the
tools we need for this class and get used to them. We organized our
webpages, practiced gvim and installed Vivado to get ready for the
class.
Materials and Methods
- Vivado
- Gvim
Results Task 1: Test your webpage on yilectronics.com. Create new links for CE433 if necessary.

Task 2: Practice gvim. Prepare
for a quiz (refer to the lecture's webpage for the time of the quiz).
Record a video of showing using all the commands above while you type
in vim. Upload it to YouTube and insert the YouTube video to your Lab 1
report. (to show that you know how to write lab reports and how to
insert videos)
Video 1. Demonstration of using the commands in gvim
Task 3: Install Vivado to your
PC. You can also use Vivado on the lab computers. Make a snapshot of
the user interface of Vivado and insert the figure in your Lab 1
report. (to show that your Vivado is ready to use)

Discussion
Compeleting this lab helped me get used to the website, gvim and
vivado. I feel more comfortable with all of the tools and I think it
was a great prepartion for the future homeworks and labs.
