Heart Beat Sensing Circuit

Introduction

This study will analyze the signal generated by an infrared oximeter. The signal was filtered and amplified using high and low passive filters and instrument/OP amplifiers.


Materials and Methods



The circuit shown in Cigure 1 was built on the bread board and probes using the osciliscope (Figure 1). The circuit was then probed using an arduino (Figure 2). Serial plotter was was used to view real time data on the computer monitor (Figure 3)

Results

Task 1:

A heartbeat is sensed, filtered, and amplified using the instrument/OP amplifying circuit.



Task 2:

An Arduino is used to display the signal on the computer monitor.


Discussion
This study demonstrated the amplification and filtering of a heartbeat signal.
