3D Printing LAB
In this lab I assembled the Original Prusa i3 MK3S+ for the
Robotics II class. The printer was received in a package from the distributor.
The assembling manual was followed step by step and its shown in Figure 1. Once
the printer was completed, the calibration part was done.
Figure 1. Complete Assembly
the full assambly in Figure 1 shows the front view of the Prusa i3
printer. It was a little bit challenging getting the calibration part
right. The auto bed leveling sensor was not in the right position in
the beggining, so it took a few trys to get it spot on. it was found
that the bet work good with out using glue. A part was printed to
confirm that the printer was set up right and the results are shown in
Figure 2.
Figure 2. 3D finished part.
The printed part of the boat shown in Figure 1 was printed succesfully
using a speed of 150% which it was a little less than 2 hours. The
resolution of the part it turned out to be really good. The next steps
will be try different speeds and density to compare quality. Over all,
this was a super fun experience, and this printer did not disappointed.
